1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Wilhelm Lindner · Lindner Übersetzungen
Karlsbader Str. 28 · 94036 Passau · Germany
E-mail: info@lindner-fachuebersetzungen.de · Phone: +49 851 20938054
A data protection officer is not legally required and has not been appointed.
2. How this website is built
This website is deliberately data-minimising: it sets no cookies of its own, uses no contact form, and embeds no external fonts, social media services or third-party advertising or tracking services. Contact is made exclusively through direct e-mail and phone links.
3. Hosting (IONOS)
This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When you visit the website, IONOS processes technically necessary access data in server log files: the file requested, the referrer URL, browser type and version, operating system, device type, time of access, and the IP address – anonymised at the point of collection.
This processing serves to deliver the website and to keep it stable and secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and reliable operation). According to IONOS, log data is stored for eight weeks and then deleted. Processing takes place in data centres in Germany.
A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with IONOS (concluded on 4 June 2018; since 19 July 2022 the data processing agreement has formed part of the IONOS terms and conditions).
4. Audience measurement (IONOS WebAnalytics)
This website uses the statistics service IONOS WebAnalytics. It works without cookies and without recognising individual visitors: only anonymised access data is evaluated (such as the page visited, referrer, browser, operating system and approximate region). Individual visitors cannot be identified, and no usage profiles are created.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in statistical analysis of website use). Processing is carried out by IONOS under the data processing agreement described in section 3.
5. Encryption
This website uses TLS encryption (HTTPS). Data transmitted when you visit the website is protected against interception by third parties.
6. Contacting me by e-mail or phone
If you contact me by e-mail or phone, I process the information you provide (name, contact details, the content of your enquiry and any documents you send) in order to handle your enquiry and, where applicable, to carry out a project.
The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract, and contract performance) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to general enquiries). Documents you send are treated in strict confidence; an NDA is available at any time.
Your data is deleted once it is no longer needed to handle your enquiry, unless statutory retention obligations apply. Business correspondence and tax-relevant records are subject to the German statutory retention periods of six and ten years respectively (Section 257 of the German Commercial Code (HGB), Section 147 of the German Fiscal Code (AO)).
7. Recipients and international transfers
The only recipient of the access data described in sections 3 and 4 is IONOS, acting as processor, with processing in Germany. Operating this website does not involve any transfer of data to countries outside the EU or EEA.
Where I correspond by e-mail with senders outside the EU/EEA, my reply is transmitted to the country concerned; this transfer is necessary to respond to your enquiry (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR).
8. Your rights
You have the right, vis-à-vis the controller, to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The supervisory authority responsible for the controller is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
9. No automated decision-making
No automated decision-making, including profiling (Art. 22 GDPR), takes place. You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide personal data; however, I cannot respond to an enquiry without your contact details.
10. Visitors from the United Kingdom and other countries
This privacy policy follows the GDPR, and the same standard of protection is applied to all visitors to this website, regardless of the country from which it is accessed. For persons in the United Kingdom, the processing described here also meets the requirements of the UK GDPR; the competent UK supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
11. Version and changes
This privacy policy is dated July 2026. It will be updated whenever the actual data processing or the legal situation changes; the version published here applies. In case of doubt, the German version of this privacy policy is authoritative.
